about
"Home" is a well-written and well-intentioned love song, haphazardly and sloppily mixed and mastered to meet a self-imposed deadline that did not matter in the slightest.
This song conntinues my experiments with digital drums and sampled sounds, bringing a sonic character to the track that is appreciated by some; however, I find the song to be more effective when pared down to a simpler arrangement.
Before my love, Crow, was officially my partner, I put this song together while pining and longing for their comfort and presence.
Original notes read:
"Song about a person"
They should have read:
"Song about my person."
lyrics
It was a long, dry, dusty day when you called
I could feel the rain fall down from your home
Water is nothing at all
When the skin cracks and blood and bone expose
Skin is soft and you're emotional
Wherever you are is my home
I was a long way away before I dropped
Eyes as red as the dusty cloudy day
Seeing is nothing at all
Wherever you are is my home
Why do we do the same dance
After what we've been through?
Death or heartbreak,
I'd do it again with you
Move around, touch the ground, shoot me down, let me drown in your arms
Wherever you are is my home
Wherever you are is home
